A New Solidarity with Creation: Catholics Actiong on Laudato Si'

In June of 2015, Pope Francis issued his encyclical Laudato Si’: On Care for our Common Home.
We are a group of Catholic parishes, schools and organizations in Western Washington
who have come together to support one another in living out the vision of the encyclical.
This web page is a hub for information, events and resources for shared use. We hope you find it helpful!

Season of Creation Mass

Saturday, September 30, 10:30am
Laudato Si’: A Mass Celebrating the Season of Creation
St. James Cathedral, Seattle

All are welcome to celebrate the Season of Creation at St. James Cathedral. We encourage you to bring a delegation of at least 10 people from your parish or school to join with hundreds of Catholics from throughout western Washington! During the Presentation of Gifts at Mass, all parishes and schools are invited to have a representative offer up a symbol of the work that the community has done on behalf of God’s Creation – whether it be prayer rituals, educational materials, seeds or produce from parish gardens, etc. After the Mass, there will be a luncheon and resource fair, so that parishes and schools may share and explain their work with others. If your community would like to have space at the resource fair, please contact Patrick Barredo ( to reserve a table. This day is sponsored by St. James Cathedral, the Intercommunity Peace and Justice Center, Earth Ministry and Seattle University’s Institute for Catholic Thought and Culture.
