OUR WORK

2023-2024: Catholics Call for Ceasefire

Way Of Sorrow - ceasefire group 2024
YATI students lead stations of the cross promoting just peace in Israel and Gaza, in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, Seattle.

Witnessing escalating violence in Israel and Gaza, the Catholic High School Leaders for Social Action built a social movement urging representatives to support permanent ceasefire. In partnership with Pax Christi, the coalition led a multi-generational panel that educated the community on the history of Israel and Palestine and ways to promote peace. On March 29th, the coalition hosted the “Way of Sorrow,” a social justice Stations of the Cross event, where the community gathered to reflect, pray, and raise their voices in solidarity. Their efforts helped amplify calls for peace and justice in Israel and Palestine.
